A0160: Facility records

AHCA cited A0160 246 times at 222 of Florida’s 1,171 small ALFs between July 2023 and July 2026. It’s the fourth most cited tag.

What a surveyor looks at

59A-36.015(1), F.A.C.

A0160 is the home’s own file, as opposed to a resident’s or a staff member’s. Rule 59A-36.015(1) runs from (a) to (w), and most of its entries point to another rule for what the paper has to say. The license is on it, and so are the admission and discharge log, the emergency plan, the insurance, inspection reports, menus and a stack of written policies. Of the ten tags on this site, it has the longest list.

Several of those papers keep their own clocks. The county approves the emergency plan every year, fire and health inspections come round every two, and you run an elopement drill twice a year.

The paper this tag asks for

There are 26 documents under this tag. You need 21 of them in every case, and the other 5 only when something is true of your home or a resident. Having every one of them is not the same as passing a survey, because a surveyor also reads what’s in them and watches your home run.

What Alfie does here

We photograph and type in the whole list once, and after that Alfie keeps the dates. Anything with a date printed on it, like the license or the insurance, runs out on that date. The rest count from when you last did them.

A surveyor also checks two things no document can. One is whether the license is up where people can see it. The other is whether the home actually follows the policies in your file.

If you’ve just been cited for A0160, the plan of correction is yours to write, and Alfie won’t write it for you. Where Alfie helps is the next survey, so the same paper isn’t missing again.
